Top Dating Coach of 2006

12.31.2006

posted by Donovan at 10:08 AM

The Top Dating Coach of 2006... make your opinion count in my poll below. Polling closes midnight the 6th of January. (Please post a comment on why you voted for your particular dating coach, it may help others find more success as you've had!)

Riding off Thundercat's Top Pickup Artists of 2006, I thought that there is more to dating than picking up girls from boyfriends and taking them to bathrooms, so I thought the concept of an overall Dating Coach would be awesome. These are the best instructors based on performance, innovation, and content of advice. Remember, not the most popular perhaps, but the person of the year who has given the most relevant and useful advice for the improvement of YOU (that you've found to work), not particularly the whole community.

Let's see who wins!

Personally, I'd like to choose someone who is virtually unknown, but I saw him turn guys who you wouldn't believe had a chance, into smooth talkers with a better chance of obtaining natural game in 11 hrs. I'm a little biased, because I'm one his students. Gambler, this is for you.

Its sad that you people are so easily fooled. Juggler is a guy who totally ripped off "SS" in my opinion. Then he hires a bunch of total rookies to run his seminars. One is the Social Hitchhiker. That guy is such a pretty boy fake it's not even funny. Juggler's Method might actually help some guys, but I would never trust a guy that claims he goes to bed every night at 10pm because he has a girlfriend. I'm sure Juggler is laughing all the way to the bank off you losers.

Donovan,
it'd be nice if you could get some of the voters, perhaps with a request to explain their choices.
i haven't heard of Juggler doing anything crazy to warrant such a lead - the TV thing in the UK?

i plump for Sinn. He's been teaching in-field around the calender (and country, if not world, his skill levels are reportedly right up there and his articles are tight, to the point and hits on essentials gracefully.

happy new year all,

Good point. I'll make the adjustments in the post. Good to see so many votes only after ONE DAY.

Wow that's a tough call. I had some great experiences with a number of different coaches in the PickUp 101 organization during my workshops.

And I've seen the guys at the Authenic Man Program do amazing work on inner game.

But if I had to pick two that should be in your listings...

Daniel Johnson - Senior Instructor at PickUp 101

Sean Newman- Senior Instructor at PickUp 101

Each of them lead one of the workshops I took. Completely different styles of teaching and game, yet both are pillars of knowledge in what it takes to get each man past his particular sticking points.

And you can tell they really care about the student getting it.

I'll be taking the Authentic Man Program in February, so I'll hold off on recommending Decker or Bryan till then.

Happy New Year!

Have you notice that the quality of workshop teaching has gone down for Pickup 101 ever since Lance Mason hardly ever teaches workshops anymore?

Sure Sean and Daniel are really good, but they are not Lance Masons. In addition to this, during the summer of last year a whole bunch (I think 6) of their other main instructors left due to "personal" reason. A friend mine took AoA earlier in 2006 when those other instructors were still teaching and took AoR a few months after when those instructors had left. Big difference!

Apparently the newer instructors which replaced the ones that left are newbie previous graduated students. Some of which are really green!

The model of taking graduate student seems to be the norm for them as they move into teaching in other cities to save flying a bunch of instructors in, they are using supplemental "instructors" from the classes of previous workshops in those city. Plus they don't seem to be teaching in Project San Francisco anymore!

We love Lance and his products, bring him back please and restart teaching in Project San Francisco which was a lot more comfortable than the new place they are teach at which is cramped.

Interesting comments about Pickup 101. It’s filled with a lot of gossip and rumors – which definitely puts a spin on the situation. I only have few comments.

Lance started a company that’s goal is to help guys have happier lives. All the instructors are dedicated to doing that. A lot of guys come in and want to SEE the instructors run sets all night and be impressed by them – a pissing contest of sorts.

We realized although this increased satisfaction with the “instructors ability” on our feedback sheets, but it didn’t really help guys improve their "skills overall." What actually helped the most was a brief demo, then being lovingly pushed, given encouragement, and then feedback – both in bars or during the practice in workshops.

What it comes down to is that guys want to know they aren’t being “ripped off” when they sign up for a workshops.

When you finally get to the point of paying $1,000 to $3,000 for a workshop you have to admit that you need help – which is not only humbling but can be mildly embarassing and not everyone deals with this well.

They want to know that they got the highest qulity possible to the point that they hide behind skepticism. So the way they deal with it is to obsessively asssess and evaluate the instructors ability as a way to hide behind dealing with their own insecurities.

I personally did this myself, so I’m not attacking anyone.

Lance created a workshop that worked without him because it’s his SYSTEM that’s effective, not specifically him.

He talks about how a physical skill set needs to be practiced physically. It’s impressive to hear him talk, but guys get much more out the exercises that Pickup 101 focuses on. Obviously you need to be competent to teach, but REQUIRING Barry Zito teach you how to pitch is overkill. Lance will vouch for all of his instructors.

Besides, if I had to bet on Lance Mason or Sean Newman, I would take Sean Newman any day. Just like if I had to bet on myself or Sean Newman, I would take myself any day.

But, that's just my personal opinion.

Finally, they don’t teach at Project SF anymore because it’s too intrusive for the other room-mates. When they had one workshop every two months it was no big deal, but now that they are blowing up, it’s become too excessive. The other room-mates are all successful and don’t need to teach and would prefer the privacy then the money.

I've also heard really good things about Authentic Man as well.

You mean Lance would even vouch for a new instructor that he has not even met that teaches in a new city? Come on you can do better than that!

Bring back Lance!

Implying that you are better than Lance Mason doesn't sell it for me or my friend that took AoR after the "more experienced" instructors had left. Remember my friend has the benefit of experiencing the before and after.

Also Lance has over 10 years of experience. Thats a lot more years of teaching. It's one thing to know how to pickup, but it takes another skill set to teach. Come on man, you know this!

Rumors has it you guys didn't paid those 6 instructors instructors that left anything, so they left and started their own companies!

Is Brad P. still not on this list?

I mean, I love all my boys at PickUp 101, and Lance is undoubtedly the man, but you can't have this contest without including Brad in here somewhere. Everyone I know who has worked with him has said he is an amazing teacher who really produces results for his students, and nothing matters more than that.

Jeff Hanson, PU101 gets my vote. Jeff is probably one of the instructors that “Lance Mason Fan” is referring to as new instructors. He is a great instructor and is active in the San Francisco PU community, we know him, a person with height integrity of whom I am glad to know.

It is unfortunate that Lance Mason fan’s friend had a bad experience, I have not heard much negative commentary about them, perhaps we at ebss (SF Lair) can help him debug what’s up, and that’s what we are here for right? Rumors are rumors but truly we are all friends in the SF bay area.

FYI: Project SF has been graciously been hosting the “Meetings with Masters” every month. We have had the pleasure of meeting Carlos Zuma, Bryan & Travis (Authentic Man Program), Wayne Elise, and in a few days Zan Perrion. I would guss that with the friends of Project SF and Craig Eubanks we will most likely see the majority of Joseph Matthews’s list in a 12 month period. We owe a lot to them and respect them as community leaders and pioneers, lets chill and vote for who matters for us.

Hey Steve Iamzed, not who you are, but anyway, Pickup 101 is a separate entity to Project San Francisco and also a separate entity to the SF Lair. Don't use confuse them to make your point. I am sure this Jeff guy you talk about is a good guy too. All I am saying is Lance has 10 years of experience and also more years of teaching than Jeff or any other new instructors who at best only has 6+ months of experience, if that. The older instuctors that are not senior will have about 1+ year of experience. Still nothing compared to Lance. Bring back Lance!

No matter what you say and how you say it, thats the facts. Even if Lance vouches for them all, a fact is a fact. Also Lance cannot possible have vouch for the every new "instructors" (new graduate students) that are supplementing at the new cities which they are starting to teach at. Why? Because he never taught them and never met them. Don't insult our intelligent by pulling the fast one on us, please,

It a shame that no new students will get to experience Lance or have that experience to compare with the new instructors.

I want to make it clear that I have nothing against those new instructors, they are doing their best, but I would like Lance to come back and teach so that the new instructors as well as students will get the benefit of his experience. After, I don't see any of these new instructors on this list. So bring back Lance!

I have to say I'm surprised Juggler is topping this list. Just goes to show the power of PR and the Almighty $$$. I was not nearly as impressed with Juggler as I was with, say, Tyler Durden of RSD (but that was almost a year ago).

Sarge on,

I don't think its so much his $$, as it is his Seduction School show and a decent majority of the guys on this list getting their start through that a few months ago.

Also blame "The Game" book. Most guys that come in through reading that book are either interested in learning from Neil Strauss, MM or Juggler. I think some guys prefer not to use routines and so they opt for Juggler.

Hey, I thought voting ends at midnight on the 6th, looks like it is still open? Are we waiting for more votes to topple Juggler from the top?

Juggler? That is sad. He's is such a IMITATOR of Mystery Method, and Speed Seduction. You guys need to wake up. He makes millions a year by just telling you guys to act natural and walk up and say "hello". His method works for guys who already can pick up women, not for the rest of you. And Juggler will admit that he isn't even a PUA. He goes to bed early at night with some average girl he's been with for years. You guys pay him because he makes seduction sound easy, and it give you hope. Hope is what the community if founded upon. Yet that's about all your get for one of his lame seminars. $2500 worth of hope. WAKE UP.

Could it be your sense of negativity that is holding you back from having the success with women that you want?

If you check your facts you'll find that the RSD boys (Tyler/Papa) went to a Juggler workshop while living in Project Hollywood when Mystery was still there to see what they could learn from Juggler and to see if they could use anything from him in their game.

Since you guys are talking about who copied who, checkout the website below.

On the first video testimony it has Lance Mason admitting how useful the MM book is for him. Did you guys know that before Pickup 101, Lance took a MM/RSD bookcamp with Wilder. I have always thought what they taught was too close to what MM taught.

The original is always the best in my opinion and with the comments above about Lance's new instructors, I definitely would stick with the original MM!

I do feel sorry for how much these so called guru's charge and how desperate most of you guys are. Fueled by hope its easy to become addicted to the next big thing that just might be the missing piece for you, or at least thats what they want you to believe. The truth is there really isn't enough good women in America to meet the demand, and that is what drives their value way to high for many of you to compete with. How did I solve this problem? I moved to Japan. I can't tell you guys how good it is here. It is so easy to find available women it's not even funny. In fact ALL OVER ASIA there is a MASSIVE surplus of good women, most Americans can't imagine. And when you approach, they are most ALWAYS kind to you. And let me tell you. I'm probably not much better looking than poor ass Ross Jeffries. Yet these women haven't been totally brain washed by television and physical appearances and they have this crazy idea, that older men aren't bad at all, just refined. And not to brag, but I bet I pull way hotter women than most any of there "so called gurus" more consistantly. My problems I had in America seen like another lifetime.

That post above is funny. Anyway. It's interesting how Ross Jeffries is NEVER mentioned. Sure he's a bit crazy, and maybe someone you might not party with everynight, but the guy is devoted, and his products show that. His Magik videos changed my life in more ways than seduction. That is some true genius stuff. That guy has studied every brain science self help art known to man. I think his material mixes pretty well with Juggler.
